Game Development

This is the newest service area for GDL. While I've been doing graphic
work intended for use in games, it was always a sideline effort until
recently. Now I'm working on a new RPG for 2004 called Harbinger's
Ballad. In addition, I've been colaborating with other teams on their
works, which has increased the systems, apps and workflows I support.

The nicest thing about doing Game Development work is that it takes
advantage of all my previous efforts & skills! My photography provides
textures and backgrounds, my modeling work in LW obviously comes over,
my C++ and Java programing trnslates beautifully into the programming
done and scripting in place on the engines.

Harbinger's Ballad

HB is an RPG slated for 2004. Its got some outrageous and unique game play, and the characters/settings and effects have been coming along great.

As soon as I'm allowed (NDAs and such) I'll share some of the WIP imagery -- character designs at the very minimum.

MageWars

The MageWars Chronicle for Neverwinter Nights is created using the Aurora Toolkit and custom textures, objects, scripts, and storyline.

You can take a look at the Storyline synopsis, Download the Modules that make up the Chronicle, or even take a peek at the intro video for the module [ no sound this version ].

I am doing new video (now all in Lightwave) for MageWars, and using it as cut scenes in NWN. Look to see this area expand rapidly in the next two months.

 

A5 - Game Studio

While not a project in an of itself, the A5 engine has proven invaluable!!! With it, I can test all of my animations and models that are targeted for the Quake, Unreal, NWN or custom game engines. It allows me to create proof-of-concept titles, iron out level designs, and double check the entities I've been working on. This becomes critical when I'm working with a larger team using, for example 3dsmax or maya. Knowing that something will work before its handed off is a huge relief

This is SourceForge project and part of the Game Foundry program.

I joined the team to provide concept art, and later in the project, level art, 3d creatures, levels, and enviroments.
